My Weekly Planner

Setting daily goals isn't my cup of tea. I feel restricted and like a robot when I do that and I become easily disappointed when I can’t accomplish a day. But, I believe setting goals is really necessary to stay on track when learning languages, especially if you’re busy. Last year, I was really busy. I was studying for an important exam during the year and I had my internship and my university tasks. I didn’t want to give up my English just because of these things because something will always come up in life and I didn’t want to put off my dream. I knew the perfect time would never come. So I needed to be organized to make them all happened. And I set goals and created weekly plans for my studies. For English, I set weekly goals. I’m still doing it since I started to learn Spanish. I need to keep practising both of them and this planner motivates me to keep going.
This is the planner that I use;

I used to print it and fill it, but now I do it on my laptop. I created a file with it and I use it now.
I set weekly goals like this;

I set my goals depending on how busy I’m on that week. I need to accomplish these goals until the end of the week. It doesn’t matter if I watch tv series on Monday or Friday. It all depends on my mood.
I choose a quote for the week as well;

Then I write everything that I do during the week.

I also write next to the activity how much it took to do it. So at the end of the week, I can see how much time I spend during the week and if I did a good job, I feel proud and it really encourages me to keep going.
It’s just like my daily task. Even if I’m really busy that day, I can listen something for 30 minutes anywhere anytime, maybe when I wake up or on the bus. I’ll probably have 30 minutes free time on a day or if I know that day will be too busy, I set a goal like “listen something in English for 10 minutes at least on Wednesday”.
It really works for me and I hope it stays that way. 😊
